You need to put the image url into a [ simg ] [ /simg ] or it will just be a link!

With .gifs or other things, they go into what is known as your signature, it appears under every single post you make. To put things into you signature you need the url, so copy the image's url, if you don't know how to do that, I cry.
But to change your signature, you go to "My Account" and scroll down to the bottom, on the left you'll notice "Change Forum Signature". Go into that and enter the url and format it using .
