My computer died :(
As the title suggests, I have a dead computer. It used to run Windows Vista, but of course, Vista sucks. So I installed openSUSE (a flavor of Linux if you don't know). But then, when I tried to upgrade the system a couple days ago, it wouldn't shut down normally. So I did a hard shutdown (held down the button until it turned off) but when I rebooted, something was messed up. I think my kernel got corrupted somehow. Here's my system specs:
Dell Inspiron 1525
2 GB RAM
I think the hard drive is 320 GB or something like that
Broadcom 4311 WLAN card (I also can't find the drivers to get my wifi working)
Probably standard processor and video card
OS: openSUSE 12.2, but I was trying to upgrade to 13.1
Help, please? Thanks!

2.Don't update it
3.Revert back to windows 7 vista 8
4.Buy a new harddrive

I believe you may be able to fix it by booting off your install disk and rerunning the YAST bootloader config. If that doesn't work, you may need a new hard drive

What do you mean by "something was messed up?"
And another yay because Linux.

Well seeing someone use Linux makes me proud I dont use Linux myself but i know its a great and stable OS. Since i dont know why it turned out so bad for you i can't really help. Maby you installed something wrong? Try Reinstalling it? i have no idea on how linux works once again. But if you need any help i'm sure to help out. (add bv_joske_belg on skype)

Besides that, it's a Dell they may die, just like other computers. Dells are the lower brand of computers anyway.
But it sounds like a harddrive failure.
