So I got my sister's computer a month ago, and this happens on start-up.
(Sorry it's a bit blurry, but all I get is a flashing underscore)
When I tested it before, I got a keyboard failure error. I didn't have any keyboard so I couldn't access the BIOS
And also here is a picture of the inside (don't know what any of this stuff is, I hope one of the computer gurus of PMC will come)
And there are a few unused wires here and there:
It doesn't really matter if I can get help on this or not. I mean, it's my sister's. But if it works (I am assuming it uses XP) I'll probably just use it for Fallout 3 or somethin'.

I've been looking around inside. I took out the hard drive and found the largest dust bunny I have ever seen. Well, once I think about it... it's more like the only dust bunny I've ever seen. I've also tried mixing around wires. Annnnd..... I'm back where I started.
All I can think to do is to re-install a clean XP on it. Or just duct-tape a pillow to the top so its a more comfortable foot rest...
Looks like you had a massive hard drive failure.
Make sure all connections are securely connected. You can try booting up a new version of XP onto it, but depending on the level of the crash, it might not work at all.

Im not too sure about your initial problem. It looks like the hard drive isnt being recognized for some reason... or the keyboard. Do you happen to know what the expansion card is?
I do not know what that is (I'll Google it(Googled it, and I know where it is)). And most times I don't have the keyboard even hooked up because it's the same thing.

It probably doesnt have one. I have a very similar system laying around here and it doesnt have one either.

I'd suggest dusting out the PC with a can of air and disconnecting the hard drive cables and reconnecting them and making sure they're secure. If that doesn't work, then maybe a technician is the only way. Worse, scrapping it.
I'll try this later. And instead of scrapping it I'll just use it as a footrest like I was doing earlier. Great for when I'm playing the Xbox. And maybe as a chair for my N64..

You're PC can't access the hard drive so it's trying to access the floppy disk, which isn't working either. That's the gist of the main problem.
The keyboard problem however, I haven't the slightest other than it's an issue with the hard drive as well, or possibly your motherboard.

are u using a usb keyboard?
Yes, it's all Dell, so it's the only option.

Try using a PS2 keyboard.
All I have is an orignal iMac keyboard and a Lenovo non-usb keyboard.
The non-usb lenovo should work if it use the PS2 port.

I think i see a ATA cable and if that is the case the computer is very old. And i would suggest just use a smart phone because smart phones are stronger than that computer.
I use my iPad currently. But I still want to use this for FO3 (It's not optimized for 7)
Hopefully I'll be able to go to the attic and find my parent's old computer, which I know is XP

Ye I know. I'll just use it for browsing and stuffs.

Difficult to see exactly what the problem is from these pictures, you'd be better off taking it to a technician, but if you think it uses xp then it might have some old parts that would be no good for a lot of games.
