I have been tossing around the idea about putting together my own server. No doubt there are plenty of hosting providers out there, but who offers the most bang for my buck. I am looking into a 30 slot server with various plug in's such as the obvious bukkit, factions and so forth. I am willing to spend around 60 to 70 Dollars per month on the project with possible donations folded back into the services to enrich game play features. As I have very limited server experience and none with bukkit I need a host that will do most of the work for me with the installations, backups and such. I have found a few hosts that look interesting but would like to hear what the community has to say. What host are you using, how much is it running you, Is the functionality and tech support up to par and most importantly, are you happy with them? I would very much like to thank everyone in advance for any input you can give me. Thanks!

I have allot of ideas that could make this server pop. Of course I'm old! lol 38 to be exact. I have an in-law that introduced me to the game when I became too sick too continue on serving in the military. ( I have cancer ) Now I pass the time playing minecraft ,fishing and treatments. lol I want to integrate a rewards program for donations for the server. T shirt giveaways with members names on the back and a cool server logo. Hats and wristbands. Rewards for referrals such as in-game items like spawners and such. Scheduled wars or battles. Marathon build contests over certain weekends. You know, adult it up while still having a blast. I even thought of a cool way to pay admins a small amount with enough donations. ( A paid admin may take their position a little more seriously if paid. ) What most of these server lack is sponsored organized events and lack of leadership. No one should want to run a server to be all powerful. You should want to run it too have fun! Even at 38 I have a good inner child that loves to play.

I would be willing to host a server for you. I am pretty sure I would be able to host it 24/7. Bukkit, Custom-Made Permissions, And Any Plugins that you would like. You can get dedicated professional hosts like redstone hosts and such. You may want to search the Internet for the prices and such. Some offer really bad hosting but some give you the most out of your buck. First you might want to host your server on your computer(just my idea)and wait for popularity and ask for donations then get hosting there are lots of tutorials online on how to set up a server. If you have any questions just ask me.
