this doesn't happen when i play through eclipse just when I export it and put it in my mods folder.

Let me teach you to read error messages.
The Exception will be in the format of:
1. some.package.name.SomeKindOfException: some.other.pack.SomeException
2. some.package.name.ClassName.methodName(Parameter);
3. at some.package.name.NameOfClass.method(FileName.java:100)

All you care about is line 1-3. The first line has the Exception that is thrown. The name of the exception is a good indicator. Like, NullPointerException is an exception that is thrown when you are accessing a pointer (or reference as Java uses) with a null value. The second line has the function or item that the Exception was thrown by. The third line shows exactly where in your code the error occurred. In my example, it would be in FileName.java at line 100.
