Help making a server!
Hi. I have never made a server before, but I want to so me and my friends can play on it.
Could someone type a very detailed, but easy to understand guide on how to create and run a server? I also don't know about port forwarding. Also, DON'T PASTE THE MINECRAFT WIKI'S GUIDE!!! It did not help much. Please leave a full tutorial so i can set up and run a server so my friends can join. Also, I am running Windows 7 on a ProBook 4530s. Thanks!

1. go to minecraft.net
2. go to the downloads section
3. download the server.jar
4. get hamachi (google it)
5. create server folder on desktop
6. place the 2 minecraft server files and run the one tht looks like a minecraft browser first to generate a bunch of files then delete it
7. use the second one to run your server
8. open hamachi and create a network
9. have your friends get hamachi and tell them the network name and password
10. with the server running open your minecraft and type in your hamachi ID (the numbers for your computer) and have your friends put in your Ip thingy too

First off I don't think your computer can handle it.
So...
I suggest online hosting. You could probably get a server with 5 slots for only 5 dollars a month. You don't have to worry about downtime or lag.
