Hey, I want to make my mod called oretastic but I need someone to show me how, I will be doing the textures so don't worry about that, I need either someone to show me how to create a block + crafting recipe + item that drops from block or to show me a clear, up to date tutorial on how to do it.

It is up to date (it still works even if it say it is for 1.8, I know i used it).
p.s. Make sure the data value for the block is 133-255 or else you will get en error.

Go on Youtube, there are hundreds of easy step-by-step tutorials to installing mcp and making various mods. Yes, they are up to date, easy to follow and are for what you are wanting to make.

Lol? Did you even read my post? "or you can show me a CLEAR AND UP TO DATE tutorial". Every single tut I find is always for an earlier version of minecraft and/or not clear.
i dont know how to do this but there is alot of mods out there like this xD
