How do i install 1.8!
guys i need help! i downlaod the new 1.8 do appdata go to my minecraft bin replace my old minecraft.jar with my new 1.8 one then when i play it....i sayes "updating"

Hi all i'm kinda new to the whole minecraft game and so far i love it but i want to put it on my laptop but i dont have high speed to connect to the internet at the moment and the comp im using is real laggy can anyone tell me how to copy it over to my laptop Please
Well go into your application data you can get to that by just when your browsing through folders at top there will be a little bar telling you where this folder is located click that and get rid of what it already says and write %appdata% now if you have played mc on your comp before there should be a folder called .minecraft copy that whole folder to USB or some transportable device that you can plug into your laptop and also copy the minecraft launcher (what you use to open the game) then once that's done copy the .minecraft folder into your lappys application data and run the launcher (it doesn't matter where that's located).
you need Minecraft Premium.

Go into .minecraft which is in appdata, then open up bin folder just copy the .jar folder given on download into that folder agree to replace and Wala! If that doesn't work then force update and try again. Also if u want to go back to 1.7.3 just force update.

ok i did what you said...but when i went to login on the minecraft launcher it sayes "updating" ;(
This is the basics. Find the correct download link for minecraft 1.8 pre-release. I found mine off of CaptainSparklez channel on youtube. (<- great guy). Simply go into your .minecraft folder > go into folder "bin" and delete your minecraft.jar; and basically drag the 1.8 pre-release in. It's very brief, I just thought you'd be able to understand it more. Cheers!

You must rename it and call it excactly "minecraft" It Said updating for me aswell but i fixed it

guys go on google and type "teamviewer" then download it...it will let you control my comp, so u can install it for me. IF you want to do it...trust me its safe...ur the one controling MY comp anyway.
Just run the game in offline mode. If you overwrite the 1.7.3 the game wont rememer that it was ever on 1.7.3. So don't worry about a fresh install
