Java Help

Hi!

Well, a bit before the 1.7 update of Minecraft, I was going to go play on a server or something but when I clicked on Minecraft, it said I had to update my Java. I was all like 'This'll take about a minute or so' and I clicked download on the Java page. It downloaded but when I clicked install, I saw an error message. I couldn't download Java at all. Now, I can't play Minecraft. Does anyone have a solution? I really wanna play the update. Thanks.
