LAG!

My Minecraft ALWAYS has lag. It gets around 10 FPS. Some days in the morning it gets higher to about 15, but then slows back down in about 5 minutes . I have Windows Vista.
I also have Toomanyitems and Reis Minimap. Before I got Minecraft I played other downloaded 3d games, such as Portal, and had no lag, But about two weeks later, my Minecraft stopped working due to mods. So I deleted minecraft, and downloaded it again. And from then on, it is always slow. My other games are also slow now, too.
Any idea whats happeneing?

What is the speed of your CPU?
Rei's Minimap actually eats up a lot more memory than you think.
When was the last time you defragged your drive?
What version of Java do you have (32-bit or 64-bit)?

ummm for bukkit,try adding more ram by opening ur surver runner.bat thing with notepad or notepad++ change this -Xincgc -Xmx1G -jar into -Xincgc -Xmx5000m -jar

or maby its just the common fact that youhave downloaded alot of stuff and its slow you could try cleaning out stuff you dont need
