My AVG Free 2013 scans stuff as it downloads onto the computer.

The best antivirus I've seen yet is Microsoft security essentials. Never had a virus after installing it. (Never ran it either, even though I download without scanning or crap)
Avg is terrible, scans what ever it wants. Deletes whatever it wants.
Avast did nothing but watch the viruses pass through
And Norton, I gave up on because people said it steals info and stuff. But I really liked it.
I've hated McAfee since it came out. Same goes with kaspersky

Kaspersky might be the most expensive, but you get a lot for your money. I would also recommend advanced systemcare 6 and adblock plus, both of which are free. I agree with other commenters who say you should scan your PC daily. Also, scan what you download so you don't get any nasty viruses.

This happens sometimes when an ad is running a script that your anti-virus deems suspicious (I think that was the correct terminology). Get AdBlock and it should solve the problem.

McAffee is bad, very bad. You should get AVG or something different.

This is just my guess, but I think it's because this site can share people posted by random people, and the anti-virus program must be thinking "Hmm, this is obviously full of downloadable viruses, better block it off!", btw I don't recommend using McAfee, use something like Norton.

Norton seem to me to be worse. and your right. McAfee is not that good but it SiteAdvisor program save me lot of time. even with MyWOT. i do like Panda cloud and Malwarebyte. they both work together really good.

Daily might be an overkill, maybe every 2 weeks or a month.

Hmm... McAfee probably got some complaints from people downloading programs from here that turned out to be viruses.

Although most people who make programs (like skin viewers, etc.) and post them on this site are legit, there are always those people who love infecting you with a virus, spyware, or something worse.

To play it safe, scan whatever you download from here with McAfee, Microsoft Security Essentials, or the free version of MalwareBytes (personal favorite).
