I need help on learning to make mods. like what programs do i need, what skills do i need, and can you teach me if i don't know.

Download the Java Development Kit. You need this to get started. Also the newest version of java. Java Development Kit is often referred to as the JDK. Find some tuts on youtube. Something like Minecraft mod writing tutorial, or how to write bukkit plugins.

Making mods requires coding. Which usually is not something you can just learn at home. If something is too confusing. Coding will be the worst for you. If you want to code mods learn coding and scripting or ask a bukkit developer for guides or program information. Otherwise it's not something you can learn tonight and do.

u will need textedit( or any other type of text editor, gimp(or any other photoshop thingy), and u will need to go to this link, it shows how to make a new item step by step.
