Use Win-rar
Re-Download, also go to %appdata%, .minecraft, bin, minecraft.jar, Delete META-INF.
Have you downloaded modloader MP aswell? That solved my issues a while back.
im having same issues. i would download therecent modloader and drag all the files to minecraft.jar and elete meta-inf and would get black screen even if i do it the right way
no i have definetly deleted the meta-inf i have done alot of mod installing before and i dont know why it isnt working

1) The most likely problem is that you didn't delete the META-INF folder.
2) The reason single player commands is taking so long to update is because it can't be updated yet. No MCP for 1.0.0, No Single Player Commands for 1.0.0 from simo.
