Hi id like to get mods with no modloader i have a windows xp i do not have the %appdata% thing i need help

the "%appdata% thing" is what you put into your run box.
(hit the windows button, look for where it says "run" and an input box. type in %appdata% and it will take you there. Look under the .minecraft folder)

If you cant go to the appdata folder then you cant use any mods at all. (Unless you use an automatic installer which I have never used)
PS Use tekkit it uses an auto installer
