Whenever I use the server-starting software, it says in the command line 'Kicking /127.0.0.1: You need to log in!'
I have no idea what I need to log in to besides the launcher and the website.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to have a purchased copy of the game or set the online-mode flag in the server.properties file to false. If you have purchased the game, make sure that you are correctly logged in on the launcher and then try to join your server. Make sure that your name is on the whitelist if it is turned on. If none of that helps, list what errors you got and we can try again. Remember that sometimes restarting the Minecraft launcher will fix these problems (it gets forgetful sometimes).
