Out of Memory Error

A while ago I started having these really annoying issues while playing on the server I play on. There were chunks that didn't respond to anything I did. If I placed a block, it was invisible, if I removed a block, it wouldn't disappear. Soon after this MC would crash and say it has run out of memory.

I've tried raising Java's heap size from the Java tab in Control Panel, and wrote all that Xmx1024m stuff on Runtime Parameters. Even tried the Java Heap Size option on MCPatcher, still crashing.

My old (2003) computer barely runs Minecraft, and doesn't crash. This better one has ran it perfectly before. Now I'm just starting to get sick of it. Maybe I did something wrong at some point?

I have the latest Optifog installed, Java 7, Normal (I get lots of chunk loading errors on Far) Render Distance and a 16x texture pack.

Any help would be appreciated, but don't tell me to re-install Minecraft and Java. I've done that.

Thanks.

Sorry i'm beginning to run out of ideas. Make sure you are running java 64bit and not the default 32bit. If you are just running "javaw" then put the full command line for the 64bit version because I think it usually defaults to 32bit version.

It sounds a bit like the lag of doom that optimine should fix.

I have 32bit Windows, so that might not be the problem. :/

Anyways, thank you for all your help.

The server isn't my own.

I have allocated 1GB of memory.

I have Optimine+Optifog version 1.7.3_HD_E_MT.

Minecraft is still crashing.

All this can be, at least in my opinion, found in my original post.

You are being very very vague with what you are asking. You haven't mentioned whether this is your own server you are hosting or if its one you are connecting to. Massive difference. If it is your own server post what type it is, any plugins etc.

The way you have written I'm guessing its a problem with your minecraft. Allocate 1Gb memory and get optimine and optifog. Post up if you are still having problems after this.

Get Optifog + Optimine and make sure you have the right Java.

Same thing but I found this one slightly more detailed:

I've done this before, but I tried it again now.

One thing I don't understand is how Minecraft still says that it's using only 10-15 percent of the memory.

Do what other people have mentioned.
How many people are on the server when it runs out of memory?
If you have 64bit windows you should use 64bit java, and can upgrade up to 4gb allocated ram.

okay do this

ctrl + alt + delete
open windows/start task manager
right click on minecraft
go on process
then right click on the highlighted option and click
set priority HIGH then set affinity to only one left so then it uses less of your ram so there that's how

You never tried to reinstall the Game?
Delte .minecraft (backup saves) and download the Minecraft.exe new?
