Shading - HELP

Does anyone have any tips on shading? I sorta self-taught myself by looking at other's creations but I believe I've hit the wall in terms of technique... so, in short, any tips?

I've read the_soup's tutorial on shading arms. You need to shade it where the body actually folds/where the skin actually goes in, like your elbows.
I still am working on shading myself, but I do have one thing that may help with arms.
