I just got a new computer on the 4th and downloaded Minecraft. Well, there's a little bit of a problem. My singleplayer game doesn't work! When I try to create a world, it gives me a dirt screen for about 5 seconds after it says 'Switching level.' Then, it flashes an error report on the screen for about .25 seconds, then it gives me a black screen. Tried creating a world via MCEdit, same thing. I've deleted my .minecraft and redownloaded the game. Help?

This doesn't just fix sound it fixes many things, this video is just mainly based on sound and broken clients but give it a try anyway just in case.
First of all, this is Win7. Not osx. Not even going to try, downloading win stuff easily kills my computer as it did my old one.

Have you tried force updating?
Yes.
make sure that you download the os x minecraft not windows or linux(yay linux)
Haha yep.
Restart computer?
One time when I exited a world back in 1.0.0 or something it said "Saving Chunks" then crashed and all I had to do was restart my computer :3
*Though I'm on Windows 7....*
