Texture Pack help

I am making a texture pack, I think its 256x but i may have gone crazy and made it a 512 :\ not sure anyway, whenever I try to select it it acts like it isn't there. I have applied a HD texture fix and still it wont select. the canvas size is: 4096 px by 4096 px.
