Ok so i ve planted my tree farms underground they are basically arranged like this

X0X0X0X
0X0X0X0
X0X X0X
0X0 0X0

X=torch
0=sapling
the ceiling is five blocks high made of stone.

Ive actually had trees grow but the problem is only one tree grows in each room! does anyone have some guidance. are they spaced to close together or do they require water? If anyone has a link to a youtube vid or something i would appreciate it, i couldnt find any that pertained to this situation, that also had a solution.

If you have space, you can grow them in a grid, with trees spaced every 5(I think) though you only need 1 torch per tree. Also, it might take e week or two of minecraft time for them to grow underground. We had a successful farm on my survival server that had saplings every other space. Like the one you showed but without the diagonals

they do not require water, they do require around 5 blocks of space above the sapling and being close together will effect growth. try

to prevent any saplings from being beside eachother (diagonal)
a proper tree farm mostly wont grow all it's trees.
