Update help! please help asap
i want to play on my friends server which is still 1.8 but when i click the option "dont update" the load bar freezes at the end. how do i fix this? please help

I think its illegal to redistribute minecraft.jars that are not officially released by mojang.

You could also just find a downgrader.
how is his server 1.8, tell him to update it!!!!!!!
delete your mods
i back up my minecraft.jar and all my saves and then i delete the entire .minecraft folder and even the launcher and then get a new launcher, run it, click "dont update" (with no mods or anything added) and the load bar freezes
