Well, well, well... We meet again for the first time.
I've been an opinionated, but highly respectable lurker and commentator on PMC for years (previously a different account) and while perusing through the introductions section today it finally hit me that in all my time I have never truly given an introduction. This could be due to my introverted nature or my tendencies towards privacy. Either way I decided given my more recent decisions in the Minecraft community that it was time to give the PMC post a go. I don't wish to prattle on about myself however and I won't be sending anyone to my profile as it's rather bare at the moment. So this means I'd like to say a few things about myself I think are important if you choose to ever engage or follow me and leave the REST up to all of you.
With that being said, welcome to me. Give this a little read and please comment below with any questions you have, even if (especially if) they don't have anything to even do with me! :D
The important nerdy Minecraft bits everyone cares about:
I've been part of the gaming world like most of us since I was a small child and I've also been a part of the artistic community for just as long. I play a variety of games from the typical popular competitive games on console and PC, to my more particular favorite oldies but goodies, and of course the indies/devs that are dear to my heart (Let's give a shout out to ConcernedApe) So naturally Minecraft was the sort of adventure that was right up my alley and it's been a terrific experience seeing the game update over the years and more importantly the insane things we all as a community have created and done. I have a particular fondness for world design, game mechanics, and social systems so when MP servers rolled around I was in love. This was a place and a game where I could kill multiple (virtual) birds with one (totally real) rock. This was a game where I could grind to survive and build to see my progress over time, interact with others through combat or working together or even through games that OTHER members had created. But more importantly it was also a TOOL for keeping my creativity sharp when I was not working. A virtual "sandbox" (a term we all annoyingly know too well these days). This led me to wanting others to be able to enjoy smooth experiences online, have fun, and honestly see how far their creativity could take them so I've ended up staffing for quite a few different styles of servers with different levels of responsibilities. Sometimes it went really well and then life called once more, and sometimes its gone horribly horribly wrong. Every time though it's been an experience for the better and I am now currently in the throws of designing my own take on a dedicated server experience for players. I pride myself in being an excellent big picture, but charming builder and I've got some great ideas cooking up. So far entirely by myself, but a process I find I am enjoying. I also find that while the game is played by and for everyone, there are a ton of youngens playing that are in the perfect time in their lifes to have that creativity and intelligence supported and Minecraft is a terrific place for that. Or just killing zombies and noobs. You know, either way. :P
With that out of the way, if anyone is curious more about me as a person then simply continuing read.
This next bits a bit more serious. Hue...
I'm a pretty educated (self and others) person and I'd say as far as it goes with other people I really value respect and growth. I'm always open to talk about issues or curiosities others might have. I know very much about who I am and I do NOT judge others on who they are. I can talk a lot though and while some people enjoy this it CAN be a problem, mainly when things become misconstrued and I've yet to notice. I also enjoy listening to others though, and I have tact when it comes to when to take the spotlight :3 I talk philosophy and science when prompted by the interests of others and I'm a musician and engineer myself. I do not enjoy speaking about political choices or religious disagreements, but any other topic is open. I've had many experiences and many acquaintances throughout the world and I can usually keep up cultural with anyone. Please feel free to always message me to strike up a conversation. I believe that THIS is simply the best way for people to impact each other online and it's something I've committed to. Whether silly or not :P
Wow. You made it through. I suppose it wasn't that long but you should still feel incredibly proud if not overwhelmed. If you were expected things like my favorite food or hobbies or thoughts you'll just have to have a conversation with me.
Curious about the meaning of life? I can't actually help with that but feel free to ask anything else down below in the comment section! I plan on starting daily uploads in the near future if this also interest anyone. Have a wonderful day/night and make something out of it.
