Dwarves that inhabit underground caves. They can be shorter than Steve, passive, and drop iron pickaxes. They'll probably need structures- just houses dug into stone with a door and a window. And they should have statues or monuments built above the ground where a dwarf cave is. Also they should trade for things they can't get down there, like wood.

Amazing Idea, it would be useful for getting things while underground, maybe they could have a chest or two inside their structure (like mob spawners), would they attack if harmed, or just go on as usual like villagers?

I like the concept, but I think it would be cool if it was simpler. No trading, and no monuments- It would be cool if it was chancier. Also, this one's more complex, they mine and build structures as they mine, like live action NPC mineshafts, but mabye more Mines of Moria and less cobwebby abandoned, or mabye the same as abandoned mineshafts.

This sounds amazing, I totally agree with you!
I would also like to see more flying creatures, like wyverns, and birds, and I would like to see giants. A volcano would be cool, it could spawn in the desert, and inside there could be a nether portal.
