When you are in a bastion, it's hard to be sure which directon piglin brutes are coming from. You could have a trap or whatever your favorite way to cheese them waiting, and then one drops down behind you from above.
I don't really pvp, so please don't take my snarky opinion seriously, which is that anyone who finds spam clicking to be a rewarding and fun way to represent sword combat has been watching too much anime.
