Go to your command prompt / terminal and type in: ipconfig
Find your default gateway, and go into your browser and type in your default gateway.
Login to your router.
Find your "port-forwarding" settings, and put in your PROTOCOL as BOTH or UPD/TCP and both ports 25565. Go back into your IP config and find your IP4V, put that as your IP in your "port-forwarding" settings. Save.
Test your port with:
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and just replace 80 with 25565.
Now download bukkit off of
http://dl.bukkit.org, try and find the version you want under alternative versions.
Create a folder on your desktop and put the bukkit file in it and name it: craftbukkit
If it says that you're changing the extension, then click cancel and name it: craftbukkit.jar
Now you need to create a "New Text Document". Name it: start.bat
Now right click it and click edit. Once your click edit, paste this into the file:
java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
PAUSE
This is assuming you want 1GB of RAM, if you want more, just change 1024 to whatever you need, make sure you have enough RAM, you can check by clicking START > Computer (Right click) > Properties and then check how much memory you have. Here are the RAM values:
X = How many GB you want of RAM
X * 1024
Then exit out, and be sure to save.
Now double click start.bat and wait for it to say "done" at the end of your command prompt.
Now type in: stop
This should stop the server.
Now open "server.properties" and change your server MOTD. This is what will appear on the Minecraft Server List. You also have the option to change command blocks on.
When you're done click save.
