I do have my house completely lit. It's just two small rooms with plenty of torches and a larger room with torches around it a few glowstone for good measure. The outside walls and roof are also covered with torches. If needed, I can post some pictures of it when I get home. I forgot to mention that passive mobs have spawned a couple times as well. I've come home to find chickens just roaming around. I've made sure there is not a single hole and my doors only open with a lever. So I dont really know what's up with that.
