My thoughts:
- Extreme Hills and similar mountain biomes should reach AT LEAST level 200.
- Mountains should be much wider. Right now, they are way too small and are easy to walk around, with little incentive to actually traverse them. I never have a reason to climb a mountain, except out of curiosity, and I am usually disappointed when I do.
- Terrain shape and biome should be less segregated, as they were in Beta. Biomes are WAY too predictable, and the "hills" variations of biomes are a poor band-aid for this problem. More varied and hilly terrain should be allowed to randomly generate in any biome, but with more uncharacteristic terrain being rarer (so it's much more rare to see a large hill in plains than in a forest). It would be great for forests and taigas to have mountain ranges that equal the height of Extreme Hills.
- Rework or scrap the fractal generation system. The mixed blobs of hill-area and flat-area make it extremely difficult for interesting mountain ranges to form, even with customized terrain. The mountains get interrupted with huge flat areas. Fractals also force all mountains to be more or less cone-shaped, but linearly-shaped mountains are both more interesting/engaging from an adventure perspective and are more realistic.
- Make taigas' trees much more dense, and include some oak trees along with the spruce.
- Make large oak trees more common in generation. Forests are too flat and need more of the height dynamic that the occasional large oak provides.
- When customizing terrain, we should be able to cherry-pick different biomes. We shouldn't be held to either all biomes or just one.
