Check out Peak Hosting, they are pretty cheap and I have had very few problems with them.

    Running group survival servers is tough, the competition is massive. But it's not impossible. Here's some advice;

    - Try to get a plugin setup that is different, look through the plugin list on bukkit for obscure plugins that will interest players.
    - Get a plugin developer to code a new plugin for you, it's not that expensive, and makes your server unique.
    - Make colorful banners and images of your server.
    - Post everywhere, the best tactic is to google "minecraft servers" and put your server on every server list site that comes up.
    - Make a server twitter account, facebook or even google+ and share it with your real life friends, odds are some of them play Minecraft.
    - Have an online forum or website, you can get free forums from forumotion and website hosting from moonfruit.
    - Bump your posts every day.
    - Get Votifier set up, ensure players are rewarded for voting, and make sure they know how to do it
    - Build an epic, yet simple spawn. Something that will make players think you have put effort into your server.
    - Get a good staff team. You don't just want people to moderate, you need people who will help you run the server, people to manage your website, build for you, manage your plugins. Ensure they are mature, and friendly.
    - DONT use factions or towny. They are dull and repetetive after a while, get something different like Kingdoms set up.
    - Give players goals. An achievements list is great, also a ranking system.
    - Don't give up. The longer your server is up, the better it looks. A 2 year old server is much more appealing than a 2 week old one.
    - Set up a donation shop straight away, I recommend enjin. The only way you will grow is with money.
    - Don't just be the owner. Be a friend to your players.

Hopefully that should help you out.

If you don't understand how to set up permissions properly, remove modifyworld from your plugin list.

This is very easy to do, they use your IP address to guess where you are. My server used to have this functionality and would inform players of what country new players were from when they joined. It can't track you down any further than the nearest city though.

If you are worried about this, you can use a proxy server to hide your real IP.

I don't do any programming at the moment (aside from a little computercraft every here and there), but I do love maths (or math, either way)!

You would not boil from the heat of the sun, the infrared radiation disperses the further away from the sun you get (hence why pluto is cold and mercury is hot), and the moon does have a slightly insulating atmosphere. If you think about it, earth is hotter than the moon due to the greenhouse effect, so the moon can't be that hot. It would also not be anywhere near absolute zero (which by the way, is not the temperature of empty space, space is just slightly hotter, because absolute zero is impossible to reach). The shadows would be cold, however because of the lack of many particles to transfer heat to and the insulating material of the suits, this would take time to actually harm the astronauts.

The moon does have gravity, any object with mass exerts a gravitational pull on other objects. The moons gravity is less than the earths, but it is enough to keep an astronaut attached to the surface. The moons gravity causes lots of visible effects, for example the tides are caused by the moons gravity, and without the counterweight of the moons gravity, massive pole shift events would probably have wiped out humanity long ago.

I would be happy to do windows servers for you guys if you need it? I have quite a bit of experience with servers, I have run two myself, and currently serve as an Advisor on another.

Yes I know there is a mod, there are several, but that just changes the height, it doesn't allow for any other features that could be added with a change in height.
