Unfortunately, I have already tried that. It only allows me to add an extra line of lore below the jumbled mess.

Any other suggestions PLEASE! There must be a way to edit this text!

Help/JavaEdition Please Help Me With Votifier. I'm Desperate!

After doing some reading, I reinstalled Votifier, updated my RSA key on PMC, and then put Votifier into debug mode. I then went to PMC and sent a test vote. Most people get some kind of error on the console when Votifier isn't working correctly. I get NOTHING. It's like Votifier is completely shut down or refuses to recognize my server. I have 30 other plugins that work great! It's just Votifier that is giving me hell!

HELP!

I've restarted the server many times and have looked through my files. Votifier is definitely gone. But SOMEHOW PMC and Minestatus are still connecting to the ghost Votifier!

Alright, I used the /region flag <region> entry deny on a region on my server and it does prevent people from walking onto the region. Unfortunately, it still allows people to teleport to players inside the region. Help?

What does the enter flag do? I've used many of the other /region flag commands but have never heard of that one.

Alright. In order to this I would need the Multiverse plugin and what else? I am not sure how I would go about restricting access to that world.

Well, I have set up 10 ranks in my permissions file (excluding mod and admin ranks). I was able to figure out how to deny lower ranks from creating factions. Oddly and frustratingly enough, the Factions plugin enables permissions for all users be default and the only way to undo this is to disable each individual permission.

So, it looks like I am... almost done!!! I am finished installing plugins and I think I've got everything just like I want it. I am absolutely thrilled! I cannot wait to download the Minecraft 1.3 Release Candidate and build my brand new PvP map! However, before I do that, I think that I will purchase a server and submit it here on PMC. Then, allow a small testing group in to ensure that everything works correctly.

This is very exciting stuff!

And Willem - I won't need the Multiverse plugin as I won't need multiple worlds UNLESS the nether counts as another world. In that case, I'll need it. Also, you need to publish your website before anyone can see it.

In my PermissionsEx file, I have 10 ranks (Level 1 through Level 10). So I decided to Op myself and see if the in-game command for changing a player's rank actually works. I typed /pex user (my username) group set Level 10. When I pressed enter, a message popped up that read:

Autocomplete for <group>:
Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Level 6
Level 7 Level 8 Level 9 Level 10

My rank didn't change, I just got that message. What do I need to do?

I had a problem setting up the prefixes on my server when I was first starting out but was eventually able to figure it out. Below is an excerpt from my permissions file.

Alrighty! Another day has passed and I have learned a TON more! To begin, here is my updated plugins list:

- Buycraft (haven't messed with this yet but plan to configure later)

After watching many videos and doing much research, I have successfully set up a ranking system on my server! By using a combination of the PaidRanks and PermissionsEx plugins, a player can obtain higher ranks by paying fixed amounts of money. However, there is one problem I am encountering: I want to make it where a player cannot start a faction until they have reached a certain rank. Does anyone know how I can do this? Other than that, things are going pretty smoothly. In fact, I hope to have the server finished pretty soon.

Alright, alright everyone! I have read your posts (thanks for all the responses btw) and believe that it would be a good idea to install a permissions plugin just to reward those who donate. Now, I have heard that configuring permissions can be a PAIN so if anyone would like to help me out here, please, do so - and remember, I am not setting up a ranking system, I just need to use the plugin to reward the people who donate by giving them special abilities or something.

Most of the above posts cover things that I have already done but thanks for the help anyways guys! Also, the server is up now - but it won't be up all the time since I like to sleep and stuff.

Log in and help me out!

Hey guys, I don't know why I gave you my IP for Hamachi. The Network ID is "Grape Soda". So type that along with "wolf" and you should be good to go.

Also, I actually wasn't sure if I wanted to include ranks on my PvP server since they end up being quite useless in the long-run. I was actually just going to make everything monetary based. $100,000 to start a faction, eh?

So, if I chose not to include a ranking system on my server, would I still need the permissions plugin?

Alright guys, I have gotten really far in the development of my server. What I need now is for someone (or more than one) to join my server and check it out for themselves. We need to find out what is working, not working, and what could be added.

I am still running on a private server so you will need to join Hamachi before you can log in.

Wow Willem, that sounds fantastic! If you could really be one of my first donors for this server, that would really, really, help out! When I get my server on a more dedicated connection, I certainly get in contact with you.

Alright everyone, I have added two more plugins to my server: WorldEdit and WorldGuard. I have used WorldGuard to more accurately define the borders of my spawn area and have set up a no-PvP, no-griefing zone within this area. I THOUGHT that one could use WorldGuard to define an area and then use the Factions plugin to make that area into a SafeZone... but I couldn't figure that out. So for now, I am using WorldGuard alone to protect my spawn. I just hope that the two plugins (Factions and WorldGuard) do not interfere with each other.

Another thing, thanks for your help with finding good plugins RoboShark. There is one more I forgot to add to the list: I need a good plugin that can set teleportation and spawn points like if one wanted to travel to the shop, they could just type /shop.
