"Mortal Engines", the art is fantastic, the VFX is solid, and the worldview is not bad, but it's just not good.

Good news: I’ve reached Level 42.

Bad news: I’ve come down with pneumonia,

so all my Minecraft builds will likely be delayed by two weeks; I won't be able to finish this new train before Thursday.

At times, being an aerospace enthusiast can feel rather disheartening.

Aerospace is a field inextricably linked to politics, and naturally, it becomes a stage for people to parade their superficial understanding. A mere word of praise for a particular country's rocket performance or unique design concept is enough to have all sorts of political labels slapped on you—leaving us with little choice but to simply shrug and say, "You get used to it."

I’ve always felt my PC’s performance was "good enough"—it handles stable rendering (albeit slowly), runs Minecraft fine, and plays recent titles without major issues, save for the occasional poorly optimized game. That is, until I encountered Ace Combat 8.

I’m seriously considering replacing this old workhorse that’s been with me for eight years. It’s not really about the cost; I just have a habit of sticking with what I have until it’s completely unusable.

I WANT TO PLAY ACE COMBAT 8 !!!!!!!!!!!!

——From a player who pre-ordered *Ace Combat 8* but cannot play it because their PC is still equipped with a GTX 1060.

Every day I spot something about the front end that doesn't look quite right, so I make tiny adjustments—much like an automotive clay modeler who simply slaps on a bit more clay wherever a line looks off.

Having a model makes things much easier: I use a straight LED light strip to illuminate the surface I’m trying to recreate; by observing how the reflection distorts, I can determine the general 3D geometry—a little tip from a restoration builder!

    Halloween month has begun.

We don't celebrate Halloween here, but every year around this time, people start post "Lonely Halloween" MV.

And then, two months later, it’s Mariah’s turn.

The real challenge in building an electric locomotive model lies in the electromechanical components.
I can finish the basic shape of the entire train in just one day, but it takes another full day to determine exactly what the electromechanical systems are and where they are located on each car. Even train enthusiasts don't necessarily photograph these details—and I certainly can't ask someone to lie on the tracks just to get a shot. So you can only search for blueprints, and even then, you might not find them.

My new train has begun to take shape. In fact, as long as I'm not doing MZK facilities, my efficiency will be surprisingly high.

Yes, to be precise, it is the *Modern Warships* collaboration version.

But It's not mine. Just because I'm on a server.

I’ve just added KATO’s "Seven Stars in Kyushu" to my train collection; I now own two of JR’s three major luxury sleeper trains, with only the "Twilight Express Kamakaze" left to acquire.

I had originally intended to use these funds to buy the "Sunrise Express," but the "Seven Stars in Kyushu" is a new release and holds greater value for a collection, so I’ve decided to save the mid-range and commuter-style sleeper trains for a future purchase.

Hmm, "Sift"... I really don't understand what kind of strategy Mojang's "new worldview" after 1.21 is going to follow.

I’m guessing the heartwood of its trees will be sky blue, while the stone and its variants will be a deep teal-green. Minecraft’s existing block sets in the deep blue (navy) and green ranges aren't exactly comprehensive, yet this update doesn't seem like it will fully address the scarcity of options in that ecological niche.

I had originally planned to go to bed and wake up early since I’m off tomorrow; I’d been meaning to build a new train—a project I’d already put off for nearly two weeks.

Then, I suddenly woke up at 1:00 AM. Feeling a sudden surge of resolve, I fired up Minecraft and started building right through until 5:00 AM—that way, I couldn't keep procrastinating.

I feel that since reaching level 40, every level up has become extremely difficult.

It took me 3 years to reach level 40, and it might take another 6 years to reach level 80... provided that I'm still around then.

I’m currently playing SnowRunner and have recommended it to others.

For me, the atmosphere matters more than the off-roading itself: driving a Tatra truck across a "cyber-Russia" to haul various cargoes, with absolutely no one—not even a trace of human presence—around me. I can truly clear my mind and simply enjoy the solitude of that slow, steady journey.

I don't think anyone could fail to love the Union Pacific 4014 "Big Boy," and I’m certainly no exception.
My N-scale JR train collection averages about $30 per car, yet a single N-scale Union Pacific 4014 costs $250. That price point rivals mid-to-high-end 1:18 scale die-cast car models.

If you step up to an HO-scale metal model, be prepared to spend upwards of $1,000. As far as I recall, there is only one type of car model with a market price higher than that.

Ever since I started working on these reconstruction projects, whenever I come across something—whether online or in real life—I find myself thinking, "Hmm, I could incorporate this into my plans."
As the list of potential projects grows, they begin to clash with one another; I then have to scrutinize the details of each prototype to determine the ultimate winner of this "reconstruction project battle royale."

I have a habit of taking a "hero shot" of every build I create, and I think the results turn out quite well—they have a genuine photographic quality. Yet, when I actually pick up the camera myself, I struggle to take good photos; in fact, there are only two or three shots I’m truly satisfied with.

I attribute this to external factors—after all, I’m not Jim Carrey in *Bruce Almighty*; I can’t just snap my fingers and alter the environment of the entire planet.

Endless revisions! Endless revisions! Endless revisions!

On average, new data arrives every single day that overturns the layout I had previously hypothesized!

I really want to turn a blind eye, but my professional integrity tells me I have to make the corrections.

So, don't attempt a "reconstruction without blueprints"—your life will truly become miserable.

I’ve started cleaning up the mess—structural misalignments and the like—caused by a previous, overly enthusiastic editing session.

I highly recommend the "build first, install later" approach for projects like MZK; it provides a necessary buffer. If you discover a need for adjustments after installation, you can simply undo the install, rather than having to hunt down specific additions amidst a complex, tangled structure. Otherwise, they'd end up like me, having to destroy things I already had in place just to fine-tune the position of each pillar...

I began modeling the structure for levels 1 through 4. The columns here are concrete, yet—surprisingly—they feature corbels extending from their tops. This situation is relatively rare in current building structural design.

At first, I assumed the floor slabs were steel, but the flaking paint didn't look right for steel, and the surface showed signs of weathering characteristic of concrete. I then considered whether they might be prestressed beams, but with a span of only 8 meters, prestressing wouldn't typically be necessary.

Later, after researching some Soviet architectural structural designs, I found that this "corbel" design was actually quite common, which I'm a little unclear about.

    Certain_Grass • 2026-09-15 17:48:23
I suddenly realized that I had forgotten the concept of "prefabricated buildings": MZK's concrete structural components should all be prefabricated, which is also a typical feature of Soviet construction engineering.

China once followed this model for a period of time, but gradually returned to cast-in-place concrete structures in the 1980s due to quality issues. The concept was only mentioned and used again after the 2010s, so I didn't think of it at first.
