What I want is a rather simple, yet neat-looking 32x Texture Pack based on what everyday blocks would look like in a parallel universe almost identical to ours.

I'll give credit. I plan to monetize it.

Just for clarity, I was told that renaming an item made it more expensive [i]to repair later[/i]. Is this the case?

I liked it before because it gave it more of a random effect to it. Lapis is ok because it's not used for anything else and there's always this plugin

The smp server I play on only upgraded to 1.8 recently. I believe now we're at 1.8.3. This leaves me with some basic questions about enchanting, the answers to which are certainly going to be old news to most of you.

Gonna ask anyway.

First off, is it possible to place a gold version of what I want to enchant on the table - to generate a greater chance for the best enchants - then switching to the real item?

Also, I used to get tremendously powerful items through the copious use of book enchanting. Example: Bow of Liche - Infinity, Flame, Punch II, Power V, Unbreaking III
Can such a bow still be made? From what little experimenting I've done, this now seems like wishful thinking.

And Finally, I'm big into naming my items, just for style. Before, this helped keep repair costs down, but I've been told it now has the opposite effect.
Say it ain't so!
