    Hey!

My name is ArdyThel. Well, technically that's my gamer tag/social pseudonym, but I'm not gonna give away my real name. ^^

I've been skinning for just over a year now, though I couldn't lie and say consistently. I do skins for Roleplays and Biomes, for fun, as well as for my friends and younger sister. I've also recently taken up doing random skins, because I can only skin when inspired. I also write books(still working on publishing), but I make Minecraft versions of the characters if I have the time to help me in visuals.

I'm happy for anyone to use my skins if you even remotely like them(I doubt my abilities are anywhere near that though), but for commercial use I'd like to be asked for permission to use them.

If I disappear for a longggggggggg period of time, it probably means I'm grounded from here for using study time to skin.(Please Note: I am currently grounded). Longest time off a thing was a year and a half, so you never know. I'll always return though!

    TTY'allL,
    Ardy

Happy Fourth of July to all you Americans! I celebrated my country's anniversary three days ago(though it was more a memorial for someone instead). All the festivities are happening today though, so we're over here celebrating with y'all! Happy 250 Years!

Random thing of the day(well, two):

      1. I logged onto Origins today and someone came by and gifted me seven totems. For a horrible pvper I have now found safety.

      2. And also in my Forever world I found a bounce disk. The mineshaft was in part deep dark, part lush cave, part normal cave, and part sulphur cave. It looked pretty cool!

  • Skinners and Other Content Creators you should check out!

TheSilverFilly: She hasn't been active a whole lot lately, but her skins are amazing. She made me the Ancient Monarch, which had been my dream skin for years.

Oscilllate: He's a bundle of surprises... and a fellow Warden lover like me.

DreamWanderer: He is amazing when it comes to technical builds for machinery. He thrives on making vehicles, and his bookshelf(the actual books) IRL are amazing.

Kintsukuroi: He is an amazing world builder who works very hard on his builds. Their great for pvp or rp, and beautiful to look at.

You said you write stuff? If I might ask, what sort of stuff do you write?

I'm a writer myself, with my main goal being tactically coherent military sci-fi (As opposed to the usual tactically incoherent stuff lol) but all I've written so far is norse fantasy - not shoulderplates and screaming about valkyries and Valhalla though lol, something more actually based on scandinavian prehistory with some artistic license.

Sorry for the long reply I got signed out automatically or something and had trouble getting back in (Had to reset my password twice lol)

Why is Lybonrech spelled with random italicization and stuff?

Anyways, interesting to hear that you learned you were better at writing than you thought through school. I myself have had several writing assignments for school - none of which I finished lol. Prior to my mostly completed work, I wrote a single rough draft of an 18th century pirate story, which I never finished, and found only a year later to be comically bad, so much so that I'm glad the friend I shared it with never read it lol. But hey, I've got my new story which I am actually kinda proud of. So it's not technically the first thing I wrote, although if you wanna go way back there's always mario fan fiction I wrote when I was 9 XD

I'm currently in the process of writing Lybonrech, So it isn't published yet. =] That's a really cool idea! I hope it turns out well.

Ah, yes. I have had it in the past where I have written things for school and then found out that what I thought I couldn't write I actually could, as other students got away with it. And I think it's good that you are able to keep refining the world. It's hard to start actually writing when the world isn't ready yet. In my experience I usually get completely away from the plot because I'm still trying to work on the world at the same time.

I think that's amazing that you already have a full novel out there! For only writing for 13 months, that's really impressive. Have you written before for school or personally, or is this really your beginning of the writing journey for you?

      Cool.

So is Lybonrech set in a fictional world but doesn't use SFF stuff but is still a sort of horror? That sounds cool - have you published or uploaded it yet? (That is, is it finished?)
I've been doing a non-SF/F story in a fictional world myself, working on one thousand-year story (With multiple time periods it's not just lore numbers but rather me wanting to use every tech level from Roman Antiquity to the Korean War) that follows basically one good country, the rise of another good country, and with immense theological depth the most evil-yet-not-cartoonish faction I could devise.

I've not written more than a few pages of my sci-fi stuff. Partially due to the fact that I chose fantasy for an assignment (A class wanted a submitted story, and well uh, I misinterpeted a rule about chat and thought they didn't allow guns so I didn't write down and present my sci-fi)
That and I'm using my fantasy partially as practice, as my Sci-Fi is meant to be a bit of a magnum opus, with some weird ideas other people keep not using - like... a space opera with a good government or a military that gets to be cool and not loose, or tactics that make sense and aren't just emoting - and I keep refining the world so I'm not sure I'm ready to do it.

As far as Norse fantasy goes, yeah I've tried to be very different from normal fantasy. For one thing I didn't do medieval, modern, shoulderplates, or prophecy, but rather a fantasy world inspired by Norse and Saxon society and prehistory in some ways. I've uploaded one full novel and am working on a second, although I have not full-published anything yet. I'm very new to writing, been planning it for a long time but only started really writing about 13 months ago.

I mainly write more fantasy books, more in the realm of Alternate Worlds and Historical-Timelines rather than High-Fan with Magic and Fae and the such. I also like mystery and plot twists. =]

For example, some of my works include Unregistered(A story where the northern world is under one totalitarian government and a large group of people work together to slowly revert it from the bottom up.), GOAT(Actually this one is in a real world setting, a young Norwegian detective and her work-partner from childhood figure out what happened to her father when he went missing. Turns out he was mixed in with a remote intelligence agency), Lybonrech(In the world of Lybonrech a mysterious clear gas appears and starts poisoning people. In order to explain it quickly Lybonech is a parallel to the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant Disaster. TBH this ones a little thriller/horror but the point is to show you don't need fiction to make a horror story.)

I personally believe that coherent sci-fi, especially military, is much more engaging than incoherent sci-fi. I feel it makes the story flow better, and also gives it a more honest and flowing plot. I actually know a lot of small-time writers personally, but none that specifically like to write in that genre. Have you written much in this genre? And Norse Fantasy stories are also really cool. It's really not a big part of the fantasy genre but the rawness and difference in the stories makes them really cool!
