When did you first join the server: This is my first approach to the server.
Have you ever been banned on a server, if Yes, please explain. Yes. The owner for a small server was caught up with his emotions and banned a lot of people at once.
What time Zone are you in: Pacific Time Zone (GMT - 8)
Can you be on at least 3 hours a day: I am able to stay online and be active for about 3-4 hours each day on minecraft. However, when there is an emergency situation that occurs, I may not be present on the server. Monday (4-5 hours) Tuesday (3-4 hours) Wednesday (4-5 hours) Thursday (3-4 hours) Friday (4-5 hours) Saturday & Sunday (5-7 hours) . These are all estimated times.
Do you understand what it takes to be a staff member:Yes
Main Questions:
In your opinion, what is required of a moderator: I believe the responsibilities given as a staff member is to be affable and help the players out while also making the server a more delightful place for everyone to stay on. There will also be circumstances where you come down using kick, ban, mute, jail in certain conditions. You are to determine which command suits most depending on the situation given. Also a major responsibility of a staff member is to be respectful. From past experience there has been a lot of arguments and it caused a massive uproar throughout the community. The staff should be a good example itself. We should respect all players and our fellow staff members as well.
Do you have experience as being a staff member for a different server: Yes. I have been an Admin on a network that is still in progress and I am not currently capable of stating the name due to their circumstances. (Privacy issues) In the past experiences I did hold positions as Admins, Moderators, Helpers on various minor servers as well.
How would you be able to help the staff team if you were selected as staff: I am fully aware of all responsibilities given as a staff member. I want to see this server grow into an impressive community, without experiencing much troublesome incidents occurring during the process. I believe I may be able to offer a hand on that. I have knowledge on what is not to be done in the particular situations and would like to prevent any incidents from happening by making myself clear, to my fellow players. I am capable of helping the server by organizing the different aspects of players and helping it run smoothly as well.
Why do you want to become a moderator on this server, and what separates you from the rest: I wish to be a staff member in order for me to help out on developing the server. I do wish that this society grows to be an active community. I also do love helping out people and I believe enhancing the qualities of the server will benefit the players. I must first state that I may not be the best applicant out there. However, the dedication I am willing to offer for this server is way more than just "hard work". I am passionate about helping others. This is an opportunity for me to help out not only one person, but a significant amount of players that join. My abilities may be limited but when it comes to helping others it really exceeds the limitation to my abilities and brings out a potential in me called "passion". Once again I may not be the best applicant buy my mind set on being a staff member does not lose so easily to the others.
Being a moderator requires hard work, enthusiasm, professionalism and what else in your opinion: I believe moderator requires the quality of being an affable yet strict person. Being affable will get people to speak up their opinions on a particular issue or subject that can be improved on. I would listen to their suggestions attentively considering it and really absorbing it in their own perspective as well. While on the other hand the strict quality can make sure that any trouble that was caused by a group member, either it being a close friend will be talked with and made to understand thoroughly to never make an issue like that again.
Hypothetical Questions:
Explain what you would do or how you would handle the situations listed below.
A player accidentally says the IP of another server, and immediately says sorry wrong post, what do you do? I would go through the process and mute the player for a reasonable amount of time stating the fact it is protocol.
A player accuses another user of hacking, and will not stop spamming saying the user is hacking, what do you say to him? I would first go confirm if the user was hacker. If he was I would first ban him and give the user that was spamming an appropriately formatted warning.
You see a Head Moderator hacking, and abusing his power for their own benefit on the server, what do you do? I must still follow the rules and kick, ban, or temp ban on the following circumstances. I would first report this problem to the higher rankings and get enough proof to prove this matter.
A player is constantly spamming another user with teleport requests, the player being spammed with them asks you for help, how do you handle this situation? Give the user that is spamming teleport requests a fair warning saying that he is disrupting another player and is going to be receiving a punishment if he does not follow the warning.
Final Questions:
Why should a moderator keep his/her emotions out of the server. If emotions get involved in the server, there might be a consequence following bias perspectives on players. It would not be fair for the people you have emotions with to be treated differently from other players that are doing their job.
Why is teamwork important for a staff team: Teamwork is vitally important for a staff team. You are to cooperate with each other and figure out the most efficient and best method for getting the server to improve. Also different perspectives from different people will help you actually come up with a even more better result which is why it is important for the staff team to contain teamwork.
Are you a leader: Yes.
Are you good at managing stress: I am actually constantly under the pressure of stress. I know how to divide my personal stress from work. Work is when you have to be professional and be diligent in the responsibilities that are given. Normally stress would effect this matter and corrupt the mind set. However I just put it aside and work and resolve the stress later on in my own way of listening to music, talking to friends, etc.
Do you think of yourself as a risk taker, why: I believe I am a risk taker in some parts. I do love to do extravagant things that might bring a tremendously good result but also bad. However, I discuss it before hand with a good amount of people to actually decide if I should pursue the act.
Why do you believe that you will not be selected: I may not be the best applicant for being a moderator. There are plenty of people that have professional experience in these jobs where as I only learned from others and had medium experience in these positions.
