I think if you put in the title [A Texture Pack For Beginners] people will start to realise what the pack is supposed to be showing.

Other than that, looks good for a resource pack to show new players what blocks are.

Additions that I think you could make :-
Allowing to combine say a diamond pickaxe with a quartz pickaxe for faster mining in the Nether
Add mod support (for things like OreSpawn etc)
