I am with Sensorial on most of their thoughts. I also own a "small" server but also never make said donation goals and always pay extra each month. BUT, I would never want to let it go. It is something that I have come to depend on to be there. It is a community in which I know many of the players and the staff members (at first complete strangers) have come to know each other personally and have a strong committment to ensuring the servers run well and safely.

The best part was that I started as a player who randomly joined the server network and slowly worked up to being the owner. Crazy how things turn out.

I think there are too many topics within MC for someone to be called a Minecraft Expert. But there are definitely plenty of subcategories to be one of. I see an expert is someone who is not only experienced, knowledgeable, and efficient at their area of expertise, but the key point is that they are able to teach said area to another person. That is what makes them an expert in my opinion.

So this is taking a shot in the dark but responding to the OP about why it may seem like there are more Minigame type servers (or the like) vs things like RP, may have to do with monetization. I am not hating on anyone, pointing fingers, or meaning to be rude but a server requires some sort of funding in order to exist. This could be through donations, sales of ingame things, purchasing of boosters, the owner paying for the entire thing out of the care of their heart, etc. Minigame servers are able to make money easier because they can sell all sorts of things ingame, while an RP server may not have such opportunities because no one wants to RP with someone who just buys everything and proceeds to show off with it.

This is just my opinion and random thinking while sitting around late at work with nothing else to do. Feel free to point out obvious flaws or provide further discussion!

I like it! I play modded MC and still can't redstone even with all the additional things that come with modded. Well done.

    Probably already stated but:

Why have an argument over what is better when it is just based on what you enjoy or are more comfortable with? (Or is it just that humans like to argue thing?) Maybe I am just simplifying the discussion but it seems un-needed to argue when both have advantages and disadvantages, work for some, but not for others. Let us all just get along!

I think the male examples are quite well done but the female one seems like it could use a little more attention. By no means am I an expert or anything, just my thoughts.

I tried to build a huge city in some early beta version. My definition of "huge" back then was 2 houses, a castle, a courtyard, and some walls. I spent hours and hours collecting all the cobblestone to make it (yes it was completely made of cobblestone). But I was so proud of it. I wish I could go retrieve it now but it is long gone....

Hmm, maybe I am super far behind but I wonder how soon it is going to be before VR MC.... I am probably so far behind on the news of things

Now the real question is though... How do you keep your current staff working hard?

I really liked 1.6.4 as that was when I first started to dabble into the Modded MC territory. It really opened up MC to me and is probably the reason I continue to play constantly every single day even now.

Missing a few options, like brown hair and omnivore but overall a decent survey.
