No that isn't a mod. That was minecraft without mods.My mod stuff is on forge and this thing was on 1.9.2. I Dont think forge is out for that version though.

I have encountered herobrine many times. although never in a village before. here is a picture that i have taken from ingame that is not off google. as you can see its a figure standing in a tree in a swamp.
