babielukeIf that amount of staff is gained, the quality of the server can be improved compared to a miniscule amount of staff, resulting in a quality server that players will want to play on and support.

That's an interesting point - if you like we can take it over to the PM box - that is common, but that I'm inclined to disagree with.

More staff has a form of diminishing returns in the form of upkeep. Instead of motivating, say, 10 builders accurately and having good tabs on all of them, you need either extra people to help manage them or you're dealing with over twice as many potential sources of drama/people you need to keep motivated. Average builders are a dime a dozen, easily recruited yet harder to keep active and motivated, while legitimately good builders are rather rare to come by and tend to work best in small, organized and efficient teams.

It's simpler to manage a dozen people, tops, than attempt to organize 2-3 dozen, especially when the work is basically volunteer.

Less staff to start out with creates a foundation and allows you to more quickly get familiar with people, which then translates into a solid core that you can recruit extra people on top of if need be.

But again, that's a debate we can take to PM if you'd like to continue that ;p forgive me if I give the wrong impression here, it really doesn't matter to me that much.

I can see where you're coming from, and genuinely appreciate the constructive criticism. I will definitely take into account motivation as a factor, and will plan accordingly. Once again, thanks for the criticism as it will aid me in making better decisions in the future.

Its currently in the Pre-Alpha stage, so it's whitelisted to staff only.

I honestly don't see a need to upgrade the forums at the moment. If you took the time to read what you are criticizing, then you would know development for the server hasn't even started. The forums are only going to be used for staff news and announcements until the server releases. When the server does release, I fully intend to upgrade it to a high tiered plan. As for the requirement to be at least nine years of age, that was a requirement made over 4 years ago... You just don't have the context of the situation to make these assumptions.

    Hired Members:
You are NOT an official member of the team until your application has been accepted AND you sign up on the server website at http://lukerangecraft.enjin.com/home
This is to ensure that news and updates can get out to the staff as well as easy communication between the entire staff. Thanks for your cooperation!

Glad to see you're basing this off money. Let me explain how the system works. Minecraft isn't really a game any more, It's a development platform. Development is a process that consists of trial and error. Maybe you're right, and the profits will be that small, but if that's the case a new system will be developed to take its place. If that amount of staff is gained, the quality of the server can be improved compared to a miniscule amount of staff, resulting in a quality server that players will want to play on and support. You don't really need complicated analytics to figure this stuff out. I hope I cleared up most of your doubts and can completely understand why you would be skeptical.
