I think it's alr to use it, for example I use it to revise the description (I'm not english but I make like a "draft" by myself) then i use AI to make sure there are no mistakes, this is way better than using the translator. Instead, NO AI policy should be only against descriptions/images ENTIRELY generated by AI. You said "I notice more and more maps where the descriptions are made clearly by using generative AI" this is bad, but using it with your brain is not bad.
