I really like Linux, it starts fast and shuts down extremely fast, also since most Linux distros are free, it allows you to get more powerrzzz for your money! Installing software is a little complicated, and installing drivers is a nightmare (e.g. for GPU), but all in all it's great!
When it comes to software, most of the bigger distros come with a program manager, e.g. Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, which puts tens of thousands of applications (Ubuntu has over 65,000) in one place, with one click installation.
Oh, and Linux has practically no viruses (it's so unpopular most hackers don't want to make them), most Linux antivirus softwares target Windows viruses to help people recovering infected Windows machines
