Hi, can I join? I've got the first 3 chapters of a Minecraft fanfic I wrote here.
Great Writers Application! (sorry for the amount of chapters)

    Chapter 1
    Disaster strikes.

blebonick was woken in the night by a huge bang. He sat up, startled, then relaxed. We had nothing to fear from creepers. Still, he was curious. The guards should have stopped it before it before it came close to the wall.

He looked out the glass pane, obtained from one of the death-defying trips to the desert, over the Skeleton mountains. Only the richest could have them. He gasped. The 3 layer thick iron-strengthened stone wall had been destroyed.
The guards were fighting well, their iron swords and bows causing many piles of rotting flesh, arrows and xp to appear, and the skeletons and zombies were being slowly driven back.

Then it happened. Another huge explosion blew apart the last remnants of the wall and a new army charged in. They were using gold swords, and making queer grunts. One got caught by the torchlight and blebonick gasped. They seemed to be a weird mix of zombie and pig.

blebonick ran away from the carnage and down the ladder. He picked up his stone pickaxe and wooden sword. His father had obviously already joined the fighting, the iron armour and sword were gone. He opened the door and ran out. Almost immediately he felt a searing pain as a zombie hit him, making him lose a heart. He had no idea what to do; he had always skipped warrior class, focusing on mining. He hit the Zombie once with his wooden sword, making it fly back a step. He grinned and hit it again and again. Finally, it died, leaving him with a pile of rotting flesh and xp. He collected up the xp. Maybe they could win, after all! Then he saw two skeletons and three zombies heading towards him.

He ran away, having been shot twice and clawed once by the fastest zombie. blebonick saw a wooden trapdoor with a sign next to it, and sighed with relief. He threw it open, jumped down the ladder and shut the trapdoor. Safe at last. Suddenly he felt another pain as a zombie hit him with its attack. He hit it again and again, and eventually it died, but his wooden sword died with it. blebonick looked around. There weren’t any more enemies around, but he quickly made a small room with his stone pickaxe, cannibalized a couple of torches from the rest of the mine, and blocked his room off. Luckily, next to the mine entrance was a crafting table and a chest containing several bowls of mushroom soup, an old-looking book, some wool and a log. He took all of these and quickly put them in his room, then, exhausted, made a bed from the logs and wool and fell asleep.

    Chapter 2
    A new beginning.
blebonick woke up, with his hearts replenished. He jumped out of bed, and looked around blearily. At first he frowned at the roughly-made room, then he remembered the horror of the previous night. His hunger bar was depleted, so he ate a bowl of mushroom soup. Then he used the remaining wooden planks to make sticks, then made a stone sword from the stone he took from the room.

Suddenly he heard the sound of the trapdoor opening and weary sighs. He was about to greet the obviously victorious warriors, when he heard a grunt. He waited until the enemy had gone past, then noiselessly removed a block. In shock he saw the village guards and miners, tired and defeated. He didn'€™t notice his father among them, though.

5 pigmen zombies and skeletons followed on behind, prodding them cruelly with swords and arrows. blebonick silently replugged the gap and, fighting back tears, collected his stuff, then filled in the room. He looked in his inventory, and noticed again the old book. He opened it curiously, then smiled. It was a mapbook, containing the mine shafts, the outside world, and 2 weird names, one called the End, and one called the Nether. He flipped the book to the map of the mine shafts, then coordinated it with the overworld. He found that the nearest town was called Oak muir, and it was halfway across the Skeleton Mountains. He sighed: it was going to be a long walk. He got his bearings by using his compass: no miner ever left it behind. He then created a mine shaft, running pretty much parallel to the one already there. After a long time, he finally dug steps out of the mine.
    'Next stop, Oak muir!'

He was in a pleasant glade, with roses all around it. He quickly blocked off his mine, then stood staring for a long time at the distant Church of Notch spire from his home town, now burnt and ruined. Then he set off towards Oak muir.
He was heading along the road towards Oak muir, when he heard the noise of tramping of feet. Before, he would have gone to greet them, but he was more wary from experience now. He hid behind a tree. Ahead, he saw a large spider being ridden by a skeleton, an Enderman, and a strange creature that looked like a human head surrounded by fire and weird rods. They seemed to be talking together. The Enderman seemed to be in charge. Behind them marched 50 or so humans, being prodded and poked by the same number in skeletons and pigmen zombies.

'€˜This is ridiculous!'€™ hissed the Enderman, teleporting next to the Spider Jockey.
'€˜This is your land, you should be able to find a couple of escaped humans!'
'I'm sorry sir, the humans from the captured village generally known as Oakmuir are hiding somewhere we cannot find.'

'We have searched the village and the surrounding mountains. We still cannot find them.'€™ Said the skeleton.

'€˜What class of people were they? Miners or Warriors?' asked the flaming creature.

'€˜They were Miners. However, we have tortured the villagers to see if there was any underground spot they would all meet if in trouble. No-one knew of one.'€™ said the skeleton.

'Well, in that case we must-'€™said the Enderman as he passed out of earshot.
blebonick1 stood up, trembling with excitement. He knew where they would go. Only a senior miner would normally know, which is why those other humans did not know, but his father had been a senior miner, and one night whispered some very special coordinates into his ear.
It was time to go to the Obsidian Cave.

    Chapter 3
The men were huddling in the dim torchlight. 2 of them were wounded, and one was only on one heart. Their apparent leader, a tall man with full iron armour, was waving his Diamond Pickaxe and pointing to a map.

'€˜All right,'€™ he said, '€˜It appears that the only safe place to go is the Obsidian Cave.'

'€˜What'€™s the Obsidian Cave?' asked a lesser miner with an iron pickaxe.

'€˜The Obsidian Cave is a place our ancestors created long ago, in the first Mob Invasion. They lived there, until they, unknown to the mobs, started making villages such as Oakmuir. It is secret to all humans and mobs except the very highest ranked miners, such as myself.' he said.

'How far is it?'€™ asked another miner.

'It should take a few Miner days: which are the time it takes for your hunger bar to run out. Never fear, though, I’ve got a stack of Mushroom soup, so we should be able to make it. Any more questions? Right, let'€™s go!'

The three leaders of their races had reached blebonick’s village. The newly repaired iron gates opened wide before them and the captured villagers were forced prostrate on the ground in front of the procession by well-crafted cactus stocks- every time you tried to get up you were stung.

The pigmen zombies stood to a salute, skeletons and zombies were bowing, and the subjects of the Enderman were just coming in from their place in the procession and forming an honour guard. Ahead, ghasts were floating high, singing their mournful song. The three conquerors just stood for a while, savouring triumoh. Suddenly the blaze snapped upright, his eyes filled with hatred.

    'Remove that eyesore!'
The others stared at where one of his rods was pointing. The Church of Notch, still somehow standing, was towering over the village on its own hill.
The skeleton general bowed. 'Actually, we were saving that especially for your arrival. But first- Bring the humans out of their stocks. I want to let them watch their god die.'
The mobs ruthlessly destroyed the stocks, injuring many a human in the process. The humans slowly stood up, the pigman zombies' swords at their backs.

'€™Ghasts, begin your attack!'€™ Snarled the Blaze King, flying up high and shooting fireballs.
The skeleton and enderman each ordered their minions to attack as well, the Creepers proving to be especially useful.Slowly, with great creaking and groaning, the structure of smooth stone, sand, diamond, gold and iron began to collapse. The villagers gasped with terror. Soon, only the great statue of Notch was left. The skeleton laughed. '€˜With a core of Obsidian, the statue will obviously last a long time. However, we have slightly unusual means at our disposal.'

The skeleton waved his hand in the air.

'Normally, it would have been almost impossible for us to destroy your petty little wall of Obsidian. Of course, we would have managed it eventually, but one person made it possible. A spy on our side, he helped build the wall and in doing so, added a self destruct device. He detonated the device, then hid while the fighting was going on. And now he is going to detonate another device, this time inside the Statue of Notch, Isn'€™t he.'€™ the skeleton'€™s voice suddenly turned hard.

A pale man wearing full iron armour with a flint and steel in his hand walked towards the Statue of Notch. The crowd gasped, then, as one, attempted to get to the man on the platform. They were easily beaten back with gold sword blades.

The man was none other than the Chief Miner, blebonick'€™s father. He mined a block below the statue-a heinous crime in itself- and set on fire the TNT underneath. He walked away with the same blank expression, as behind him the statue of Notch blew up. As the cloud of smoke cleared, the villagers saw that the only thing left was the diamond base. Then- and it must have been on a redstone repeater- that blew too, and there was nothing left but the ashes of so many dreams.
In the quiet afterwards, there was nothing but stifled sobs, and burning desires for revenge on one person.

Any constructive criticism would be welcomed.

I play either factions griefing or vanilla. I also occasionally play Technic Launcher.
When I come in to a new server, I generally make a house, mine some coal, mine some iron, then make a wheat, mushrooms, sugar cane or mob farm.

Well, the map is basically just a wilderness, with certain limits so people can't just run away and never get killed. Also, sometimes the Gamemakers send through certain challenges to make people fight each other. Some ideas are: Setting the forest on fire, so you have to run towards the only part without trees? TNT traps? For the Cornucopia, yeah, i guess you could have a piston that pushes you up when it's time to start, if thats what your talking about.

Ok, first of all, the Hunger games starts in a gold building called a Cornucopia. Everyone stands in it, and there is weapons and stuff the further in you go. As soon as you are told to start, you can either run out into the wild, or stay and fight for materials which get better the further they are in.
I'd be happy to help with building, though i dont have any experience with worldedit.
    Hope I helped!
