industrial stuff would automate most things such as crafting and more. There would be item pipes, auto crafters, counters, you get the point. For magic rods, they would be really end game and would probably do some spells. To get spells, you'll have to search for the spell books on loot and apply it to your rod. then you can activate the spell which can be something like "freeze a mob" or "slow down a mob"
