I would shade your skins. You definitely have potential. It took me several months to learn how to skin. What I recommend first is that you have a solid, original idea. Next, you want to make the base colors of the skin, no shading or anything. I strongly minecraftskins.com for this. Remember, solid colors. If you want to use a skin base, although I don't recommend that. Now, you want to smooth everything out in another program, like GIMP. Also, stay away from default textures, such as steve or other things like that. Keep on refining. Remember that a good skin will have at least 3 drafts. Also, experiment with shading. Try light to dark from the top left. Then the top right. Keep trying until you find something that looks just right. Also, if you're really good, you can make skins like the guys you see on the finalists in the contests. They do something with the hats, something I quite haven't figured out yet. Remember, a skin is a piece of art. Your skin will be as personal as you want it to be. Also, I strongly recommend reading the Minetorials third place finalist in the following link: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/pixel-art-texturing-explained/

Take to heart the advice from the experts, and you'll walk among them soon.

There is a forge mod that does both for 1.6.4, and it looks good in first-person, but only the item moves in the second hand. I can't remember the name though...

Basically, a pop reel is the little video people put in on the front picture slot for mods, texture packs, and projects. I must say I am a little underwhelmed by the quality of the soundtrack and camera angles that are used in them..

    tylermark2001 ya kinda

And what project/mod/texturepack might that be?

Looks cool, might try it in a few minutes. Is there a texturepack in the download? or do you need one?

Well, it depends. Do you have someone to help you? Are you interested in getting a pre-built one? Are you sure that you'll still want a gaming PC in five years? It all depends on time, skill, and budget. Computers like these cost a lot in parts, and generally even more for prebuilt. Whatever you do, I recommend getting "state of the art" stuff from 6-14 months back. Parts don't improve all to great with the next generation, so you might as well save a little money while you're at it. Also, I would recommend using a windows operating system. Macs are a little strict as to how much memory, power and programs you can have.

Dragonbane, the 2nd looks cheapish. (not to insult whoever made it, I'm assuming you)

    Awww Yeeeaaaaaggh!
I'm really excited. Purchased my ticket to see it on the global release day!
I really love doctor who, my family has been following it since it started.
Did you know that some 150 episodes of the first, second and third doctors are lost because originally Doctor Who was a kids show and they didn't keep extra films, and the building that had the master films of each episode burned down?

If you're asking strictly about the site, then I think it's alright. The bats flying around are really nice, but the dull white patterned background behind is sorta "meh". I understand the site is under construction, which is why I propose a change. The theme is ninjas, right? Well, maybe the background instead of being a dull-techno-white, could be maybe a skyline of pagodas and such. (Probably at night.) And if you could do the bats, (optional) maybe add gifs of minecraft players poking their heads around corners, jumping off rooftops and disappearing in the shadows, etc. This should be somewhat simple using the gif maker on novaskin. Also, if possible, (a suggestion for the server) if it's available, try adding the animatedPlayer mod to it. It adds all sorts of new swimming, jumping, crouching, flying, falling and walking animations, giving the player more joints and looking a lot cooler as well. The server intrigues me, I'm thinking of joining. Good luck!

Ooh, great idea! If you need, I can worldpaint you a world with custom terrain, if that will help. I think that snow, white and red wool would be great elements, as well as a texture pack. (To, say, make armour look like a santa suit.)

I think a great addition would be bits of broken blocks. It's hard to explain, but if you could have single-pixel sized blocks, maybe arranged so they could add rubble to a destroyed temple, or something else like that, would be nice. Although that would add a whole new concept of how small a "block" can be, which will need a lot of coding.

Also, I would like to see a trampoline-like block. And maybe moving blocks, like an escalator (moving stairs) or sliding glass doors.

I have a few questions, before I say that I want to join this project.
The artist position interests me, but I need to know:
What kind of art are you looking for? (Concept, pixel, creature, environment, etc.)
Would you accept an artist that didn't do 3d Modeling?
About how many hours a week will this take?
What kind of game/project will this be?
I would really appreciate either a PM or just a post on this thread with these answers.
    Thanks a lot,

    Brick

Looks like I'm winning... But how long will that last? Good luck, tater! There are two days left to poll, I'm checking like every 30 mins...

Oh, really? Thanks a lot. You were probably the nicest, most polite competitor I've ever faced. Good try, (nice skin) good luck, and thanks for being my opponent. It was an honor and a pleasure.

The owner and staff were helpful, although sometimes they simply wouldn't answer questions. They had a drop party ( ) and I got some pretty good stuff from the party and killing and raiding. I eventually ran into two players. PatrickOfMC and fofofan. They seemed alright, and they started pvping each other. I accidentally picked up the stuff from one of them, and (they were sky ping) Patrick started chasing me with an enchanted diamond sword. His faction buddy fofo started chasing me as well, demanding that I hand their stuff back. I started tossing what I could, but the murderous bastards kept chase. No matter how many times I said that I would hang their stuff back if they stopped trying to kill me, they killed me, and took MY stuff. THen when I asked for my stuffed back, they just laughed and said "Hell no, brickwhore. Go fuck yourself somewhere else." That's the last time I'm ever going on THAT server again.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the Enderman was riding the minecart for a minute or two. Eventually, once his minecart had come to a halt at the end of the railway, another minecart hit his and sent him spiraling down to his doom. (Basically, he fell out of the end, never to return.) I have like, maybe three or four other pictures. If you want, I could post those too. But in the mean time, I think these two pictures will suffice as the necessary evidence of my encounter.

    How convenient.
You deleted the world which may have held the answer to the question that has been argued tooth and nail over since the myth started up. If I were you, I would take screenshots, save the world, and post it. Are you sure you didn't just go to a desert temple, or maybe fell into a naturally-spawning hole in the ground? I actually have a thing for falling into naturally - occuring 2x2 holes in the ground. I've done it at least four times now. Are you absolutely sure you didn't just find a hole in the ground in the desert?
