I can see where you're coming from, but if the account isn't migrated in time - access will become restricted making it pretty much a dead account. See below:
I know it's not like they'd only do this to allow availability to certain usernames, but to ensure safety to people's accounts so that they're not stolen, as is
most likely the main reason why they're planning to do this. But some names, such as God, Aid, Brick, and a lot more have not been migrated by the owner (and don't seem to be anytime soon) so the name remains unavailable to whomever would like it.
It seems a bit ridiculous for someone, myself, to rant about something like this - but I love obtaining names like these on my accounts, and don't see why they possibly couldn't reset the unmigrated names, if that could even be an option.
