I have nothing against Apple Laptops. I've owned several of them. They just generally have better features over any windows laptop (great track pad, nice screen, amazing build quality), but unless you're on the go A LOT, build a desktop.
Rendering animations on a laptop absolutely kills it. I used to render animations on mine. It would get UNBEARABLY hot. I later found out it melted some inside components due to the stress. I never recommend doing this with a laptop. They have poor ventilation and the under clocked CPUs that laptops have make rendering animations slow.
You can build a system that gets 250+ FPS maxed out on Minecraft for under 600 dollars. You'll also get 500x better ventilation, one, because it's a desktop, and two, because you choose what fans and case you want. The CPUs (intel's i5 line) would be the perfect choice for you. They render mad fast and are just generally great CPUs.
