You should elaborate on how the cushion being an entity "ruins" the minecraft vibe; As I cannot assume your position on the "correct" way minecraft would have otherwise gone about adding a similar feature as to keep intact the "minecraft vibe," my position on this is firmly positive. In fact, adhering the minecrafts "vibe" and the developers' self stated principles, instead of adding furniture blocks, adding a wool based multi-purpose block is a generally better choice. Furthermore, it being an entity is the sole reason for which is gains such use cases, by "cushion-logging" blocks to gain many states and attributes otherwise unattainable without many additions. I have no idea what other way they would have gone about it without having less use cases. Obviously, adding more content in an update without uprooting previous update schemes and implementing the content into the progression is the most effective way for a game to solely positively upgrade the experience/"vibe" through continuous update, so a feature such as the cushion with assumes two out of three of these positive attributes (Disregarding the latter, as mojang/microsoft obviously don't care about the shit progression of their game) should definitely support the "minecraft vibe," unless of course you believe that the added content itself is negative; in that case, you hold a quite pessimistic perspective. Also the cushion is quite literally a block-entity. Sounds pretty BLOCKY to me. In all, the cushion is most definitely a 6/10 feature. Quite fabulous. I like them.
