I don't know about all western countries, but the anime market for the United States was worth approximately $2.74 billion in 2009. So it's not small, it's in a lot of places. Shows like Avatar (both series) are showing on mainstream networks (e.g. Nickelodeon, Fox, Syfy). Anime isn't just geared towards children, it's marketed for different genres and ages. Who cares if it's everywhere or nowhere? Like Anime, Minecraft has enough space for everyone of all ages.
As for things to wish for in Minecraft: I wish vanilla Minecraft had more furniture and materials choices. As a builder, I enjoy creating things and also enjoy playing on servers. While I can use a mod at home, servers are limited in what mods they can use. So having a few more choices in vanilla can make playing on a server even more fun and I can be more creative - which is fun as well.
