Here's my perspective. Whiffdog, if you want to build something huge, you gotta do it yourself unless you have friends in real life to help you and you are dedicated enough to do it even though no one wants to help you (not that I am saying that about you just an example). People online are willing to help you, don't force them to do stuff for you. To build something great you need very large amount of skill and you are being reasonable about it. Forcing people to subscribe to you just so they can help you? That's a bit over the top. People are dedicating themselves to you of their own accord forcing them to subscribe to you? They already have done enough by helping you. So don't force people to do things if you're not going to help them in return.
Remember, that is a very important life lesson.
