i'd recommend the latest generation of core i3 or higher, stay away from AMD as they all suck royally (the poor man's processor)
an amd radeon 5xxx series graphics card or higher
at least 4gb of ram
recommend staying away from laptops and lean more towards desktop's sence they are more suitable for gaming
if you got money to blow then get an alienware computer, if you want to be cheaper and customize your machine a bit go with a cheap Dell computer and upgrade as you see fit
fast ram, a good solid processor and a decent graphics card is what wins the day in minecraft

Minecraft FPS : 90-140 avg graphics maxed, render set to far, Full screened (F11)
i do far more then just minecraft with this machine, it cost me about 700$ all around
