You need a domain name... once you get it you need to link upto a DNS database server. easiest way to do this is to look up on youtube, or get a VPS or Dedicated hosting plan with a provider. they have all the servers and stuff you need and once you link your domain into it, it all flows easily. for residential computers though, i dont know.
