    exp and leveling and needing it for repairing and enchanting is a dumb mechanic. hmm yes i want to spend a ton of time either doing a bunch of small boring tasks or building a massive mob farm to afk at to make a number bigger for something so finite. why did anyone at mojang think this was good and fun and why has it not been changed. i'm just gonna cheat xp in this is so stupid and time consuming for no good reason

    you know what? probably controversial take here. i don't think mods should have in-game wikis using books or anything like that. like, sure, JEI and whatnot is fine for recipes, but i think if a player wants to know more about the mod's content, it should be on a website or something and not crammed into a minecraft book item.

    i will never understand how some people will prefer heat to cold. cold is so much easier to deal with than heat is. i've been dealing with 88F degree weather for the last few days. IN MY HOUSE. our insulation sucks so i'm hot as hell. and it's hotter outside. if only moving out to another state was an option for me right now.

    Minecraft vanilla and mods feels like that even though we have made 100 steps foward, we've equally gone 100 steps back. I'm not even sure how to quickly explain what I mean by that. I've been a part of the community for a very long time and I've seen how both the game and modding have evolved. It's very strange and I feel as though I'm constantly on the fence.

    I find myself going back a forth between versions just to see if I'm experiencing a rose-tinted glasses situation or if things have truly gotten worse, and my end result is it's far more complicated than that.

    ok so genuinely i have to ask this. maybe there's something i just don't understand but like, if you don't want people to use the minecraft skin you created, then why on earth are you uploading it to planetminecraft's skins section where people can explicitly download and use it? you really believe people aren't going to use it just because you said to not click the download button?

    this is reindev (modded alpha minecraft). elytras don't exist here. the platform on the water was going to be a lighthouse tower thing then i got distracted by making a wall around my base since i got tired of creepers wandering the streets.

    with armors being able to be trimmed and customized, i realize now that mending is borderline required for those armors. repairing items has a limit with the anvil, so like, if you want to keep your custom armor you're gonna have to get those villager trades goin'.

    man that's dumb.

    UPDATE: Turns out using the grindstone to repair armor doesn't remove the trim. Of course, this means you can't enchant it, but hey this is something I guess. Still, depending on the armor that can be a fair amount of effort to repair with a grindstone.

    spent a few hours porting the asphyxious pack to beta 1.7.3 only to find that running it with optifine causes the game to crash. i mean, i can run it if i don't use optifine but like

    i want to use optifine

    ugh. i don't even know what part of it is causing the crash. the log just says buffer overflow and that's it. what do you want from me, minecraft?

    X-ray mods/resource packs are obviously cheating, but I'm curious what people think of fullbright / emissive ores. They still technically give an advantage over pure vanilla players, but they also still require legitimate line of sight. The only part of the game you're cheating, is darkness, which already can be lightened through the brightness setting.
